Problem Areas
The legacy system posed challenges in the areas of printing the policy documents as the policy document generation (PDG) application architecture was on low-performance standalone architecture. This application was not allowing integration of the PDG module with other functional modules in the Mainframes and the Oracle based ERPs. This has resulted in data and work redundancy leading to less operational productivity and un-predictable policy document accuracy.
Vision for the desired solution
The proposed solution was to a web-enabled solution, which could integrate the functions of PDG with other functional modules operating under Mainframe Applications and Oracle based ERPs. The solution should be able to build Forms on the fly, as per the context requirement to capture the user data and build the policy document following all the complex rules of workman compensation insurance segment even while using the data of/providing data to other modules. The policy document in various segments should first be generated and merged into a single MS Word Document and had to be converted online into PDF document.
